Driven by the prospect of money or really wicked games, New Yorkers with Sony PlayStation 3 fever began a vigil outside local electronics stores to be among the first to lay hands on one of the season's hottest new game systems, to be released tomorrow.

"I've been here since 11:30 last night," said William Ng Wednesday, triumphantly slouched in a chair in the No. 1 spot in line outside Best Buy in Commack.

Ng, 20, a health sciences major at Stony Brook University, and some of his frat brothers from Pi Delta Psi said they planned to sell their hard-earned PS3s, hopefully at a big profit. "You definitely can't lose if you wait in line," he said.
