Tyler Cordaro Actress Cameron Diaz has accepted "substantial" libel damages today, over a claim that she was cheating with a married man.

Diaz, who recently split from singer Justin Timberlake, sued American Media Incorporated, publishers of the National Enquirer, over an article which was published on it's website last May.

The article alleged that the actress engaged in a "smooching session" with Shane Nickerson, the supervising producer on her MTV

Clean Bean Diaz's lawyer said that after the actress complained the article and accompanying photographs were removed from the website and that the hard copy edition distributed in the UK did not contain either.

The magazine has now accepted that that the photos did not show Diaz and Nickerson in a passionate clinch, but instead involved no more than the actress giving a friend a goodbye hug.
